To complement our family wedding business, we offer Videography Services.  We have a high definition camcorder unit, and it's the highest rated camcorder of ALL the standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD) units that were rated on www.ConsumerReports.org.  The unit is extremely compact and weighs just over a pound.  It's a Canon HV30, and it records in SD or HD, onto a wide screen format.

We have a wireless microphone system, so we can hook up a wireless mic to the groom and have the sound recorded directly onto the camcorder.  This works very well at the beach where there's a lot of background noise from the waves.

For low light situations, we have an external camera mounted light that works well, but we prefer to film with natural light whenever possible (it's less intrusive).

After your event, we upload your video footage to our hard drive, run the images through an image stabilization program, then copy the raw data onto a DVD for you.  Then, we go through the entire video and edit out all the extraneous material, add your choice of song to the beginning and ending of the video, add titles and transitions, and publish two DVD movies for you.

This video offer includes video footage and audio with a single videographer before, during the ceremony, and directly following the ceremony.  We get as many artistic shots of the bride getting ready and the groomsmen goofing around before the ceremony as possible, film the entire ceremony with the groom wired for sound, and in addition to shooting film of the bridal party after the ceremony, we capture as many shots of the guests (offering congratulations, a toast or a roast) as time allows.  After 90 minutes, there will be an extra charge of $50 per half hour.  90 - 120 minutes captures the essence of the wedding ceremony, with all of the fun footage directly before and after the ceremony.  Extra video time would be to cover the reception (the first dance, toasts, shots of the decor, tossing the bouquet and garter, the cake cutting, etc.).

Your video is uploaded and edited with a Movie Maker software with your choice of music, and burned onto a DVD and mailed to you (extra copies may be ordered for $10 each).  We will give you a copy of the unedited digital video footage as well, in case you want the raw digital footage to create your 50th wedding anniversary movie with (we're thinking ahead!).

I have a Traditional Wedding Ceremony template (it's a Word document) that helps with planning your ceremony that I can e-mail to you, or click HERE to open a copy. You can customize your ceremony (replace "bride and groom" with your names, choose vows, readings, add whatever you like, and delete everything else - then e-mail it back to your wedding Officiant - easy as pie!).
For gay or lesbian same sex marriages or commitment cermony ceremonies, we change the words in the ceremony around. For instance, instead of, "I now pronounce you man and wife.", it's works nicely to say, "I now pronounce you partners in life and in love." Recently I married two gentlemen in their 70's who have been partners for 47 years. How cool is that?! Most of our gay marriages have been with couples who have been partners for many, many years.

You can apply for your license at the Old County Courthouse on the corner of Broadway and Civic Center Drive in Santa Ana (it's the big old red building pictured at right), or you can go to the Laguna Hills Civic Center on El Toro Road in Laguna Hills. If you go to the Old County Courthouse, be sure to take an extra 15 minutes to go upstairs and see the historical courtroom, jury room, recorders room, and judges chambers that are on display - and don't forget to feed the meter. I got a ticket there, and it cost me $47. Ouch!

NOTE: The Los Angeles County Clerk may be the most inept government office on this planet (...that was redundant, wasn't it?). They say they need 6-8 weeks to "record" your marriage license and send you a certified copy, so if you need your Certified Copy of your marriage license quickly, you should drive down to Santa Ana in Orange County and get your license there. They only take 2 weeks to send your copy.
